INTEGRATIVE SOMATIC THERAPY
for burnt-out high achievers ready to reconnect with who they truly are…
You've spent your life adapting, holding it together, showing up — often at the expense of your own needs. You've worked hard, achieved a great deal — and still something’s missing. A quiet exhaustion underneath it all, an inner critic that never goes quiet, a sense of going through the motions and not feeling fully there.
You've tried to understand it — talk therapy, self-help, inner work — and yet something still feels blocked. You sense the root of it lives somewhere deeper — in your family history, your cultural experiences, the parts of you that are still waiting for permission to rest.
Working with the body, the nervous system, and the patterns beneath the surface — this work gets to the root of what talking alone hasn't been able to reach. The inner critic softens. The exhaustion lifts. You start to feel more like yourself.
INTEGRATED SUPPORT
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

Hi, I’m Dr. Jean Choi…
Hi, I'm Dr. Jean Choi — a relational and culturally-affirming licensed psychologist, and I'm here to serve.
I work with people who have always had to be strong — immigrants who rebuilt their lives in a new country, first-generation professionals carrying the weight of family expectations, and high achievers who are quietly exhausted beneath the surface of their success.
My approach is integrative and deeply individualized. My practice is rooted in cultural humility. Your background and community are not separate from your healing — they are central to it. Together, we work with who you actually are, and tailor the therapy to you.
New Here? Start with these stories.
-
Navigating identity between cultures, grief for what was left behind, family separation, and the invisible labor of starting over — your story belongs in this room. And so does the fullness of who you are.
-
For those who've worked twice as hard to get where they are. We untangle the difference between drive and survival mode, and rebuild a life that doesn't cost you everything.
-
The body knows how to heal with safety. That's what we work toward together. Trauma doesn’t always announce itself — sometimes it shows up as a persistent sense of bracing, reactivity, or distance from yourself. If you know that something from your past is still affecting your present, this work meets you there. Using EMDR, IFS, and somatic approaches, we work with what the body holds — with care for the cultural and intergenerational layers that shape how it lives in you.
-
Relief is possible — and so is a life that feels genuinely yours. Anxiety and depression rarely exist in a vacuum. We look at the full picture — your nervous system, your history, your context — and work toward relief that goes deeper than symptom management. Tools and approaches that actually fit your life.
-
The ways your family survived are written in you. Therapy helps you honor that inheritance while releasing the patterns that no longer serve you.
-
Immigration, career pivots, parenthood, loss of identity — sometimes the life you worked so hard to build stops feeling like yours. When the map you were given no longer matches the terrain, therapy helps you find your footing and orient yourself again.
“We’re all just walking each other home.”
- RAM DASS
I work with adults virtually statewide in California, Colorado and Rhode Island. I would be honored to walk this path with you.
