integrative
somatic therapy

Change from the inside out.

The experiences that shape us leave an imprint on all layers of ourselves — mind, body and nervous system.  That’s why this work is holistic and integrative, drawing from these neuroscience-grounded modalities tailored uniquely to you:

  • EMDR helps the brain and nervous system process experiences that have become stuck — replaying as anxiety, reactivity, physical tension, or a persistent sense that something is wrong even when life looks fine on the outside.

Effective far beyond acute trauma, EMDR works with the accumulated weight of chronic stress, relational wounds, cultural and intergenerational pain, and the quiet persistence of not feeling safe or enough. It doesn’t require talking through every detail. It works directly with the nervous system to loosen the grip of the past — so those experiences can finally be integrated rather than relived.

Used alongside somatic awareness and parts work, EMDR becomes a pathway to genuine felt freedom.

  • IFS is based on a simple and relieving idea: we are not one self, but a system of inner parts — each with its own history and way of trying to keep us safe.

You may recognize some of yours: the part that overworks, the part that keeps the peace, the part that goes quiet when things get hard. Rather than fighting these parts, we get curious — learning what they’re protecting and what becomes possible when they no longer have to work so hard. Beneath all of it is a Self that is whole, wise, and capable of leading your own healing.

IFS brings compassion and inner coherence to what the body is processing.

  • Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-based approach rooted in the understanding that overwhelming experiences don’t just live in memory — they live in the body.

When the nervous system gets stuck in protective responses, that energy shows up as tension, fatigue, or disconnection. SE works gently to help the body complete what it couldn’t finish and release what it has been holding — restoring a natural sense of flow and ease. Slow, careful work — never forcing, always following your body’s own readiness.

SE provides the somatic foundation that allows deeper processing to be integrated in the body, not just the mind.

  • Neurosomatics is the practice of learning the language of your own nervous system — understanding how it takes in information, makes predictions, and generates the responses that shape your daily experience.

Your nervous system constantly receives input — through your senses, interoception, proprioception, and vestibular system — and generates a prediction: safe or threat? When the prediction is threat, the outputs are familiar: fight, flight, freeze, or collapse. Held chronically, these responses can show up as anxiety, fatigue, or a persistent sense of being on guard.

But the nervous system is not fixed. It is responsive — to breath, movement, sensory experience, and felt safety. Neurosomatics brings practical tools into our work: grounding practices, breathwork, movement, and sensory regulation — widening your window of capacity and helping your system learn, at a felt level, that it is safe to settle.

This understanding of the nervous system runs through everything we do together — informing how we use EMDR, approach parts work, and support your body’s healing throughout.

FAQS

you’ve got questions. I’ve got answers.

  • Yes — I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation before we begin. It’s a low-pressure way to get a feel for the work and ask any questions you might have.

  • The initial intake is a 60-minute conversation — a chance for us to meet, explore what’s bringing you in, and get a sense of the roadmap of our work together according to your goals. I’ll ask about your history, what you’re hoping for, and what’s felt missing from previous approaches. You’ll have space to ask questions too.

  • Weekly sessions to start are recommended for most clients — consistency supports the nervous system and allows the work to build momentum. For extended EMDR sessions, frequency is flexible and decided together based on your needs and schedule.

  • All sessions are online through a secure HIPAA compliant video conferencing platform that works from any browser. I serve statewide throughout California, Colorado and Rhode Island.

  • I am an out-of-network provider. This allows for therapy to be tailored to your needs without restrictions or expectations on session length, frequency, diagnoses, or the type of treatment you receive.

If you have out-of-network benefits you may be eligible for reimbursement. I’m happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible partial reimbursement depending on your out-of-network benefits. I recommend checking with your provider before we begin.

The fee can be paid with cash, check, debit/credit card, and/or Health Savings Accounts or Flex Spending Accounts.

Payment is due at the time of service.

  • Talk therapy works primarily through insight and understanding — and that's valuable. But many of us have spent years understanding our patterns without being able to change them. That's because much of what keeps us stuck lives not just in the mind but in the body — in patterns and responses that formed long before we had words for them. Somatic therapy works at that deeper level, helping the body release what it has been holding and creating change that is felt, not just understood.

  • EMDR is a research-backed approach that helps the brain and nervous system process experiences that have become stuck. It works far beyond acute trauma — with chronic stress, relational wounds, cultural and intergenerational pain, and the quiet persistence of not feeling safe or enough. It doesn’t require talking through every detail. Many clients describe EMDR as the thing that finally moved what years of talking couldn’t. If you’ve felt stuck despite doing the work, EMDR may be worth exploring.

  • You don’t have to feel ready. Most people don’t when they first reach out. What matters is that something brought you here — a quiet knowing that something needs to shift. That’s enough. We start wherever you are and move at a pace that feels safe to your nervous system. Nothing happens before you’re ready.

  • It depends on what you’re working through and what you’re hoping for. Some clients come with a single incident that has been affecting them — something specific and contained that needs processing and integration. Others come to work on deeper patterns in their lives with an overarching theme — years of adapting, over-giving, or disconnection that ask for more sustained attention.

Extended EMDR sessions can significantly shorten the overall time in therapy — offering concentrated, immersive work that would otherwise take months of weekly sessions to cover.

We check in regularly about how things are progressing and what feels right. There’s no fixed timeline — only what’s true for you.

  • No two sessions look exactly the same — the work follows you, not a protocol. We might spend time talking, exploring body sensations, working with parts of you that have been carrying difficult experiences, or using EMDR to process something that feels stuck. What guides us is always what your nervous system is ready for and what feels most alive and important in the moment.

The wisdom you’re looking for lives within you. Sometimes we just need a little help finding our way back.

I’d be honored to be part of that journey.
